Culver’s “Scoops of Thanks Day” Supports Ag Education and FFA

PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (RFD News) — Agriculture supporters will have a chance to give back while enjoying a sweet treat tomorrow.

Culver’s is holding its annual “Scoops of Thanks Day” event, offering a scoop of frozen custard in exchange for a $1 donation supporting agricultural education.

The fundraiser is part of Culver’s “Thank You Farmers Project,” which launched in 2013 and has raised more than $8 million.

Senior Marketing Manager Alison Demmer joined us on Wednesday’s Market Day Report to discuss the event and Culver’s continued support of FFA programs.

“We wouldn’t be able to continue to serve delicious ButterBurgers and fresh frozen custard without agriculture and without farmers and ranchers. It’s truly our pleasure to help educate our guests and help them understand the value that agriculturalists play in this,” Demmer continued, “And we do that by not only supporting agriculture education, but by supporting FFA specifically with local restaurants working with local FFA chapters.”

In her conversation with RFD News, Demmer says Culver’s is also introducing a special flavor for the event.

“It’s our agricultural ‘Thank You Farmer Project’ inspired flavor of the day. It’s only available tomorrow on May 7. It’s our vanilla fresh frozen custard swirled with fudge, caramel, and then topped with gooey brownie pieces. So, a little bit of an homage to agriculture, but also just a fun way to get out and celebrate with a delicious flavor.”

Demmer, a former FFA state president, says it means a lot to see local chapters continue benefiting from programs like this and the support they bring to agricultural education.
