Move Over, Georgia: Peach Harvest Is Underway in South Carolina, the South’s Top Peach Producer

South Carolina’s McLeod Farm grows and ships more than 20 peach varieties, allowing fresh fruit to be harvested throughout the season.

McBee, S.C. (RFD News) — While Georgia may be the state most often associated with peaches, South Carolina remains the leading peach-producing state in the South.

At McLeod Farms, harvest season is in full swing as workers hand-pick peaches from more than 20 varieties grown on the family farm.

After harvest, the peaches are packed and shipped, with much of the fruit reaching consumers in less than 24 hours.

McLeod Farms ships peaches across the country and into Canada, with the family saying quality is what keeps customers coming back year after year.
