LINCOLN, Neb. (RFD News) — President Donald Trump has approved a federal disaster declaration for Nebraska following the state’s historic spring wildfires.

The declaration covers five counties affected by the fires, which burned more than 821,000 acres between March and April.

State officials say the declaration will unlock federal funding to help repair damaged roads, electrical infrastructure and other public facilities as recovery efforts continue.
